360desktop Privacy Policy

360desktop's Privacy Policy covers the collection, use and disclosure of personal information that may be collected by 360desktop when you register an account with us or use the 360desktop software or related Services.  We collect your personal information because it helps us to deliver your desktop experience and make it relevant and interesting to you.

Please take a moment to read the following to learn how we handle personal information, including what type of information is gathered, how the information is used and for what purposes, to whom we disclose the information, and how we safeguard your personal information.

This Privacy Policy applies only to information 360desktop collects about you as a user of the 360desktop Software (the "Software"), 360desktop websites (the "Sites") or the associated Widgets and social network applications (the "Services").  This policy does not apply to information about you collected by 360desktop's affiliated providers, or third party Web sites and offerings linked to or otherwise accessible via the Software, Sites or Services.  The information collected or received by 360desktop's affiliated providers and these third parties is subject to their own privacy policies.

Collection of Personal Information

You may use the Software without being a Registered User, but some of the facilities of the Software and the Services (including the ability to create 360 content) are only available to Registered Users.  

Your 360desktop information consists of personally identifiable information collected or received about you when you interact with 360desktop's Software, Sites and Services as a Registered User.  Depending on how you use the Software, your 360desktop information may include:

1.       registration-related information (such as name, e-mail address and approximate age),

2.       information about where you visit,

3.       information about the searches you perform through the Software or Sites and how you use the results of those searches,

4.       customer service information about you as Registered 360desktop User, or

5.       other information specifically related to your use of the 360desktop Software, Sites or Services.

Your 360desktop information may be supplemented with additional information from other companies.

Your 360desktop information may also include certain technical information gathered or received when you use the Software. Some of the technical information that may be collected or received includes:

1.       the type of browser you are using,

2.       the type of operating system you are using,

3.       CPU type,

4.       your manner of connecting to the Internet,

5.       Internet protocol address,

6.       information about the version of the Software that you are using,

7.       the domain name of your Internet service provider, and

8.       other information about your geographic location.

How Your Information is Used

360desktop only processes personal information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and the accompanying Terms of Service agreement. Such purposes include:

1.       providing our Software and Services to users, including the display of User Content and advertising,

2.       auditing and analysis in order to maintain, protect and improve our Software, Site and Services,

3.       ensuring the technical functioning of our Software, Site and Services,

4.       developing new Software and Services, and

5.       communicating with you and responding to your inquiries.

Information Sharing and Onward Transfer

360desktop takes your privacy very seriously.  360desktop does not sell or rent your contact information to other marketers.  We provide advertisers only aggregated non-personal information such as the number of times one of their ads was inserted, viewed or clicked.  We do not sell, rent or otherwise share your personal information with any third parties except in the following limited circumstances:

  1. We have your permission.  We require opt-in consent for the sharing of sensitive personal information.
  2. We may provide personal information to our subsidiaries, affiliated companies or other trusted businesses so that they can process the information on our behalf.  These parties must also comply with the terms of this privacy policy and may also be subject to other confidentiality agreements.
  3. We believe on reasonable grounds that access, use, preservation or disclosure of personal information is reasonably necessary to:
    1. meet our obligations under any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request,
    2. enforce our Terms of Service agreement, including investigation of potential breaches,
    3. detect and prevent fraud, security or technical issues, or
    4. protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of 360desktop's users, staff or the public as required or permitted by law.
  1. We transfer personal information if 360desktop is merged with or acquired by another company.  In this event, 360desktop will notify you before any personal information is transferred to the other company and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Your Choices

360desktop provides you with access to your registration information and the ability to edit this information.  Additionally, some 360desktop services may offer you the ability to control what information is collected or used when you use these services.

Our Commitment to Security

360desktop has established procedures to prevent unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, destruction or disclosure of data (although we cannot guarantee that your personal information will never be disclosed in a manner inconsistent with this Privacy Policy).  These procedures include audits of our data collection, storage and processing methodologies and security measures, as well as physical security measures in order to guard against unauthorized access to systems where we store personal data.

We restrict access to personal information to 360desktop staff, contractors and agents who need to know that information to further develop and improve our Software, Site and Services.  Confidentiality agreements are in place with these individuals, who may be subject to disciplinary action, including termination and criminal prosecution, should they fail to meet their obligations under these contracts.

To protect your privacy and data security, the 360desktop Software uses usernames and passwords to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections to any of your 360desktop information.

Special Note for Parents

The 360desktop Software is intended for general use, however, children under the age of thirteen are not permitted to register an account with 360desktop.

360desktop does not contact children under age 13 about special offers or for marketing purposes without a parent's permission.
